Sonja's education and communications experience enable her to make a unique contribution to On-Ramps. Prior to joining On-Ramps, Sonja taught for two years as a Teach For America Corps Member in the Achievement First network of public charter schools in Brooklyn. There, Sonja designed curriculum and developed data-driven intervention plans to ensure the success of her students. Before Teach For America, Sonja worked for the Sierra Club's Media Team in San Francisco, promoting the organization's external communications efforts.

Sonja earned an M.A.Ed. from Hunter College / UKA Teacher U and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sonja now resides in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
