ABOUT THE POSITION:

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with superior critical thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills to play a critical role in supporting the advancement of the organization's priorities and prepare for leadership roles throughout the organization. The chief of staff role serves two key organizational needs: providing critical, high-level support to the president, chief executive officer, and other senior leaders and developing a pipeline of leadership for roles throughout the organization. Individuals typically spend twelve months in the chief of staff role, serving first as the deputy chief of staff and then as chief of staff, and then transition to any number of staff roles.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing an executive assistant to oversee the chief executive officer's scheduling and ensure alignment with priorities;
  • Anticipating and managing preparation needs given upcoming meetings and events;
  • Managing communications with and fielding requests from some external and internal constituents;
  • Managing the planning, communications, and operations of the organization's National Board of Directors, senior leadership team, strategy committee, and investors' group
  • Drafting communications and presentations;
  • And helping other senior leaders with special projects as they arise
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two to five years of work experience required

  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgment, strong initiative, and a quick learner
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be flexible and take an optimistic approach to work
  • Must be highly efficient with the ability to manage a number of diverse tasks, activities, and projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
