ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Our client is an international non-profit dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position will play a critical role in developing and overseeing implementation of the organization's overall partnerships, alliances, business development, business planning, and fundraising strategies. Leading a team of Senior and Associate External Relations Officers, the Director will build on current activities in this area, with a focus on the following:
- Overseeing the development and facilitating the implementation of the organization's global business plan
- Establishing, maintaining and enhancing the organization's partnerships and alliances with a variety of entities and individuals including funders, private sector companies, individuals and others who are aligned with the organization's mission and vision
- Establishing and overseeing organizational fundraising strategy
- Working closely with the Marketing and Communication team to ensure harmonized implementation of the External Relations Operational Plan.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong relationship-building and people-development skills, with an ability to build relationships at all levels
- Strategic and analytical, with strong problem solving skills
- Prior experience with or in the private sector, with sensitivity towards the private sector application to international development
- Minimum of 10 yrs of related work experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing and communications with at least 5 years supervisory experience
- Graduate level degree (MBA, MPA) or equivalent preferred.
