ABOUT THE POSITION:

The development operations team serves as a central resource to our client’s 30+ regional and national development teams, processing all contributions, designing and delivering database training, ongoing support, the operational tools and systems, and technical assistance required to prospect, cultivate and retain a sustainable funding base, which will total over $110 million this year.

The Director of Gift Operations will report directly to the Vice President of Development Operations and has the primary responsibility of managing the gift operations process for our client. This position is on the Growth Strategy and Development team and requires the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including national and regional staff members and various teams.

Given the our client’s plans for continued growth and ambitious funding goals, the processing of donor contributions with the highest levels of accuracy and speed and building a robust development operations back office is an organizational priority.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage a gift processing team
  • Oversee the management centralization of the gift and donor acknowledgment processes
  • Update and maintain RE, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on donors
  • Ensure the integrity of the gift data in RE by establishing and reinforcing standards with users and overseeing regular audits of gift data
  • Assess and analyze new technologies in software, hardware, and storage systems to make appropriate recommendations for informational and archival requirements for donor records
  • Work proactively with regional and national development staff to ensure best practices are followed in relation to the completeness and integrity of data
  • Work with gift processing staff and the finance team to analyze and problem solve for coding issues
  • Liaise with the finance team to regularly reconcile gift data
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Management experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three to five years of work experience preferred
  • Database management experience required; prior Raisers Edge knowledge preferred
