ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Our client is an intellectual property management firm, working to bring patented technology to the market as well as realize revenue from others’ activities currently being done under our client's IP. Current team is comprised of senior level executives and top professional services providers from three different law firms, as well as a high-end accounting firm that has been involved in the project for over a decade.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Our client is looking to add a bright, energetic, and experienced financial professional to its management team. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished fund raising executive, or will have supported executives who have raised in excess of $10 million in a single round.
This position will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the company’s financial practices and systems. Specifically, the job will involve fundraising, clean-up of a corporate entity, and preparation of presentations in the market for potential licensing, M&A or other transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the executive management team to provide direction on business planning and processes, defining and tracking critical business metrics, goals and objectives and forecasts
- Preparation of pro forma financials for fundraising and other transactions
- Develop and manage all aspects of company’s financial functions and policies
- Clean-up and restoration of a corporate entity to active status
- Play a key role in growing and scaling the company
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive experience with equity financing for privately held companies
- Experience with M&A, licensing and other potential exit strategies
- Strong financial accounting, transaction accounting, and reporting skills
- Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, with a hands-on approach to building and running finance practices
- Thorough knowledge of public accounting rules, regulations and guidelines
- Must be flexible and versatile as many functions, systems and processes need to be developed from the ground up
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Quickbooks and Oracle
- At least 7 yrs. experience as in a financial leadership role
- Financial experience in digital media industry, specifically in Web services and the mobile marketplace a plus
- MBA, experience with software patents major plus
