Our client produces the Web's most complete information source on preconception, pregnancy, baby, and toddler as well as a related site for parents with older children. Its team of editors, designers, marketers, and technical staff is devoted to providing new and expectant parents, as well as parents of children ages 2 to 8, with trusted guidance.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic professional to own responsibility for the smooth delivery of the company’s advertising. Specifically, this position directly drives ~30% of the above the line revenue and ~50% of the below the line revenue by guiding the sales team on all deals in the pipeline and ensuring flawless delivery of goods sold in order to solidify the brand and drive both renewal and growth from existing client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory yield management, achieving profit margins in line with the business targets.
- Increasing the profile and performance of the AdOps team, leading the capability to partner with Sales, Account Management and Marketing, jointly building and executing strategies to maximize above and below the line ad revenue.
- Ensure AdOps is on the cutting edge of technology and workflow tool needs, leading the automation and standardization of key business processes where it makes sense. This includes ad servers, workflow tools, proposal tools, and revenue enhancing tools.
- Reduce error costs by significantly reducing charge backs due to trafficking errors and underdelivery. This will necessitate ensuring appropriate business systems are in place and being used, and that staff is appropriately trained while developing and implementing a QA plan to limit errors.
- Manage a team of 2-3, providing training, guidance and backup support to other members of the AdOps group.
- Serve as the point of escalation to deal with problems with internal/external clients, understaffing, or other grievances through the appropriate channels.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience working in online advertising with extensive knowledge of ad serving and online sales processes.
- Deep knowledge of DART for Publishers and DART Sales Manager, and the ability drive decision-making and best practice across the company based on relevant information and metrics. Management experience is required.
- Strong forecasting and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize trends and keep management and sales team apprised of current and potentials issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate the needs of the department throughout the firm and to executives and outside clients.
- Ability to propose and make changes to systems and processes to drive increased revenue and operational efficiencies.
- Previous experience with ad tagging infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
