ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Our client is an international non-profit dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is an ideal opportunity for a globally minded specialist focused on HIV/AIDs pediatric clinical care, and prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT).
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical oversight for the design, development, planning, implementation, and capacity building of components of global, regional, and/or country-level programs focused on PMTCT and pediatric clinical care and treatment.
- Provide desk and on-site technical oversight to country and/or regional programs and institutions, as appropriate.
- Participate in resource development and other writing on assigned area activities.
- Develop strategies and tools for the design and implementation of PMTCT and Pediatric Clinical care and Treatment.
- Conduct analysis of program implementation to identify areas of weakness or opportunity vis a vis the appropriate technical strategy and guidelines.
- Develop and monitor work plans.
- Analyze data sets and technical assessment finds.
- Prepare reports and papers summarizing project results.
- Conduct presentations at professional meets and conferences.
- Ensure the project implementation adheres to the appropriate global PMTCT and Pediatric Clinical care and Treatment strategies and remains technically sound.
- Provide leadership and team build at the project level.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- MD or PHD in related field.
- 5 -10 years of experience in HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, family planning, public health, and/or social science research health programs in developing countries.
- Informed on current program developments in division/unit area of expertise by reviewing current literature.
- Sensitive to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues in reproductive health, family planning, and HIV infection.
- Knowledge of evaluation methodologies to judge effectiveness of technical assistance efforts and programs.
- Ability to interpret complex data and draw appropriate conclusions about their significance and relevance to public health.
- Familiarity with donor funded programs and communication styles.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with initiative to managed high volume work flow.
- Relevant computer software skills (Including MS Office Suite.
