ABOUT THE POSITION:

Search Associates are primarily responsible for helping to source, schedule, interview, and assess candidates, as well as manage the logistics of a search process. They work in partnership with team members at all levels of our organization in support of searches and, in many cases, on a variety of company-wide projects and tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

Project/Search Management

  • Successfully manage complex tasks and deliverables across multiple searches and projects involving a wide array of stakeholders and competing deadlines
  • Regularly screen resumes and conduct initial candidate assessments
  • Regularly research social sector organizations and source candidates
  • Ensure all logistics are managed seamlessly throughout a search; delegate tasks and coach junior team members
  • Manage other search team members (up, down, and sideways) to ensure they are effectively prioritizing and on track to hit deadlines/targets
  • Proactively communicate with manager(s) and team members about search progress, anticipating questions and potential search issues and proposing solutions as appropriate

Relationship Management

  • Initiate relationships with new and existing candidates and connectors
  • Shepherd candidates through the search process, communicating difficult messages and providing guidance where appropriate
  • Quickly establish rapport and build long-term relationships and trust with both clients and candidates; leverage rapport and trust to influence client and candidate decisions
  • Provide relevant information to clients and candidates to establish On-Ramps as a trusted thought partner and adviser
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Communications

  • Draft and deliver high-quality, complex documents (core competencies, job descriptions, pitch decks, etc.) that present information clearly and compellingly
  • Manage ongoing communication with existing candidates, and pitch roles to prospective candidates
  • Facilitate and lead client calls on mid-level searches; identify relevant next steps and communicate them to team and clients
  • Describe On-Ramps’ work, process, differentiators, and other brand attributes effectively in various settings to a variety of audiences
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-8 years professional experience, ideally in recruiting/executive search or a social sector organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • High level of integrity, trust, accountability, and judgment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Outstanding task and project management skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet multiple concurrent deadlines, organize time and priorities, and work well as a member of a team
  • Proven experience meeting and exceeding goals in a results-oriented environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to maneuver effectively in the face of ambiguity
  • Clear sense of urgency, initiative, and drive
  • Strong customer service orientation with an ability to build and maintain solid relationships
  • Proven awareness of and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
