On Our Minds

Working with so many organizations across multiple issue areas gives us a unique view into what’s happening in the social sector. This is where we share our insights and ruminations.

A message to our community regarding COVID-19

To the On-Ramps community,

Many of us are adjusting our schedules and lives to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. At On-Ramps, we are deeply committed to doing everything we can. To ensure our clients and candidates know what to expect when working with us, we want to share the approach we’re taking.

But first, we’d like to reiterate that none of this changes the commitment we’ve made to helping social sector organizations tackle one of their greatest challenges: hiring exceptional leaders. All of these adjustments will not impact the quality of our services.

Here’s what we’re doing at On-Ramps:

  • Telecommuting: Effective immediately, our physical office is closed. All On-Ramps team members will be conducting all interviews, client meetings, and other work-related conversations by phone or video. Rest assured that we operate on cloud-based systems, and we can seamlessly work remotely for as long as may be necessary.
  • Encouraging Clients to Conduct Interviews by Video: We’re deeply committed to maintaining equity in all of our search processes. While some candidates may be willing and able to attend in-person meetings, we recognize that some candidates may be immunocompromised or live in close proximity to immunocompromised people. Therefore, effective immediately, On-Ramps recommends that all of our clients conduct interviews by video over the coming weeks. This will prevent inadvertently creating inequities in the process for candidates who cannot travel due to health concerns.
  • Closely Monitoring and Adhering to Guidance from Public Health Officials: Our decisions and actions to date have been informed by the guidelines provided by local, national, and international public health officials. We will continue to track and implement the most up-to-date recommendations as they are announced.

On-Ramps believes that the social sector should serve as a beacon for all industries, reflecting the diversity of our world, modeling integrity, and driving positive impact. Our remarkable clients and candidates provide critical programs and resources to communities. Now more than ever, we are committed to doing everything in our power to ensure that the vital work of the social sector continues.

Please take care of yourselves, loved ones, friends, and colleagues.

Warmly,
The On-Ramps Team
