Laurel joined On-Ramps in 2021 as a Search Specialist. She currently provides project support across multiple searches.
Laurel brings more than ten years of experience supporting New York City schools through professional learning communities and coaching dedicated to eradicating disproportionate achievement for public school students. As a program manager since 2011, she has experience leading project management, recruitment, hiring, and retention. She served most recently as Director of Program Planning for the NYC Department of Education, supporting a network of schools with a shared focus on strengthening supports and outcomes for Black and Latinx multilingual learner students in grades 6–8. Prior to this role, Laurel worked in support of adult learning throughout the NYC DOE and taught English as a Second Language in China.
Laurel holds a B.A. in Chinese History from Columbia University. Originally from Kansas, Laurel has lived in Manhattan since 2000. In her spare time, you can find her on adventures across the five boroughs with her family.
